MINGLING POST
[I hope that everyone in Accord has wish-machine'd up some sweaters, because it's getting cold outside! especially around the Tower, what with all those delightful ocean winds around to make things extra-chilly. it's not so bad indoors, though. the Stewards have been doing a good job of keeping the place nice and warm for you.
so what has the crazy tower bunch been up to? jumping in leaf piles? huddling inside for warmth? trying to break the world record for most cookies baked in a week? plotting to murder everyone with horrible death magic? there's plenty to be doing and plenty of people to bother, so go talk to your neighbors! make a friend, or talk to someone you haven't seen in a while! or just, you know, stumble awkwardly into their business. that works too.]
[[ooc: aw yeah, mingling post! make your own comment, tag other people's comments, go crazy!]]

It was difficult to tell she was mournful, given the way she tended to stare blankly at everything, but that was all right, no one els ehad to know she was quite as mournful as she was.
Jinx hated snow. It was so cold in her bones, when she tried to phase through it.]

And, unfortunately for her, it's part of Tek's job to sense exactly how mournful someone is. It's a nice feeling to him, but he'll pretend like it's still a secret.
Stopping by on his way through the hall, he leans a little to follow her gaze out the window]

there is a vaguely Monster-sized rock in the lawn that wasn't there before. and every once in a while, when said rock thinks that Kaspiel isn't looking, it sliiiides a little closer.

...It doesn't keep her from bouncing against the windows though, so she spent a good chunk of this evening doing that. It's something to do. And now she's tuckered out and has somehow managed to get herself perched up on top of a bookcase in a hall somewhere.
Oh, and she's currently girl-shaped. She's not sure when that happened.
But, she likes this spot and she fits up nicely there if she really keeps her light little body crunched up. She can see everybody from up here. So... that's where she's spending the rest of her evening.
Just a little mothgirl awkwardly taking up the top of a bookshelf, spying on passersby. Nothing to worry about.]

she's apparently trying to build her own Fortress of Research, having claimed one of the comfiest armchairs and just piling stacks of books and journals around her in a system that only really makes sense to her dizzying intellect. most of these books seem to have a theme, though: myths, fairy tales, magic, sorcery, and a few sci-fi novels and history tomes scattered in the mess.
but god, she's been in there forever. someone needs to interrupt her ~taking notes~ session and remind her what human contact is like.]

He had not expected to come back and find his favorite spot in the library so thoroughly inhabited by someone else. At first, he watched from quite a distance, because being surrounded by that many books was a sign of intelligence, and intelligence was a rare and potentially dangerous thing, especially around here.
He would only stop in briefly, once a day at the most, just long enough to see if she still had her 'camp' set up there, and pretend to be interested in things on a very different side of the library.
Now, however... since she doesn't seem to be intent on ever leaving... it's time for more intensive observation. Which, of course, means looking through the books on closer shelves and pretending not to notice her.]

his bandages around his arms are all stained and falling apart, and he keeps picking at his nails until they bleed and smudge up. he keeps curling up his little bare feet, too, even though they're not touching the snow or anything. he doesn't look cold, just kind of anxious and unhappy about something.

don't you fucking judge him.
in all seriousness, though, he's got on boots and a little black scarf and a big ol' black winter coat, and he's just quietly enjoying the mental and physical requirements of making a snowman that won't fall apart the second you add a new piece. and to be fair, it's more of a horrible snow monster. he's putting extra effort into the gaping mouth and teeth and such.
(and since he's made the poor choice of fingerless gloves today, anyone's welcome to notice that his nails are painted a rather luscious red for whatever reason :I).]

Which means that it's about time that someone barged in from out there, letting in all the cold air and tromping mud and slush in across the floor. Tabby is that guy tonight. It's been too long since she's made a mess of everyone's day, with all the time she's been spending away from the tower, deep out in the city. So... she's making up for lost time.
She's checking up on things. It's been a while. Literally wandering up and down all the halls, humming obnoxious Christmas carols to herself, she scopes everything out. There have been new arrivals (some of them less than ideal) so she's gotta keep her mental map of things updated. Rattling doorknobs, peeking into open rooms... smelling things... she's all over. She'll be at it all night.]

she's back.
and Krista was dumb enough to leave her door unlocked, which means Tabby gets to come right inside and disrupt Krista's sorting of weird magical trinkets and bones and such.
she was already groaning when she heard Tabby out in the halls, but it's not like she could be very loud about it.]

So, since he can't exactly wander around and find out about everyone like a normal person would--introduce himself, have a chat, be socially competent--he's going about it in a much more passive and sneaky way.
It's sort of a tradition where he's from to sit around indoors when it gets cold and idly share music, especially at places where many travelers meet, so... that's what he's doing.
Sitting off to the side in a nice out-of-the-way place in the lobby, Coil has his lap harp balanced on his legs, and is quietly keeping tabs on the rest of the room while appearing to be focused on the little tune he's playing. The sound of it seems to fit the snow falling outside, and is simple enough for him to be able to play and keep most of his attention on everything else around him at the same time]

Arms folded tight across his chest to keep out what bit of the cold he can, he's strolling and observing the late autumn foliage as if he's surrounded by springtime flowers. And when he does spot greenery that is still clinging to its color and life? ...He reaches out, touches it, inspects it... and then smiles as it shrivels and goes as lifeless as everything around it.
Just making sure that nature is doing what she should be right now.]
