[I hope that everyone in Accord has wish-machine'd up some sweaters, because it's getting cold outside! especially around the Tower, what with all those delightful ocean winds around to make things extra-chilly. it's not so bad indoors, though. the Stewards have been doing a good job of keeping the place nice and warm for you.

so what has the crazy tower bunch been up to? jumping in leaf piles? huddling inside for warmth? trying to break the world record for most cookies baked in a week? plotting to murder everyone with horrible death magic? there's plenty to be doing and plenty of people to bother, so go talk to your neighbors! make a friend, or talk to someone you haven't seen in a while! or just, you know, stumble awkwardly into their business. that works too.]

So, he keeps up the 'questioning,' tilting his head at that. It's specifically at the "most of it" part, but who knows if she'll catch that]

...He points at one of the sci-fi books? He doesn't get the point of looking at fiction.]

[he nods a little, picking up the book so he can glance over the text on the back and then set it back down. Still keeping the one he's intending on quietly stealing tucked under his arm.

And one more awkward question for good measure--he gestures to one of the history books, and then points to her? It's not from a world he recognizes]

...No, they're from... fuck-all, I don't know.

[she points at the book under his arm, since yeah. he noticed.]

You can have that one, if you want. Seriously, I can get out of your way.

[oh hey, that makes things a lot easier, since he was intending on taking it even if she'd asked for it back.

He gives an almost shy or awkward nod of thanks at the permission to take the book. And then he takes a step back, waving in a reassuring way. She doesn't need to go anywhere, it's okay.

...He's going to want to observe and take a tally of what she's investigating, after all.]
