MINGLING POST

[I hope that everyone in Accord has wish-machine'd up some sweaters, because it's getting cold outside! especially around the Tower, what with all those delightful ocean winds around to make things extra-chilly. it's not so bad indoors, though. the Stewards have been doing a good job of keeping the place nice and warm for you.

so what has the crazy tower bunch been up to? jumping in leaf piles? huddling inside for warmth? trying to break the world record for most cookies baked in a week? plotting to murder everyone with horrible death magic? there's plenty to be doing and plenty of people to bother, so go talk to your neighbors! make a friend, or talk to someone you haven't seen in a while! or just, you know, stumble awkwardly into their business. that works too.]

Great. I'm glad that's been... established.

[he looks over at him before he just... rolls his eyes and gives him a very casual punch to the shoulder. because anything harder would make him mad, the nance.]

[it's true. But he rolls with this one just fine--he's aware that he probably deserves it. He takes the shot and sways away a little, as if he'd been hit harder than he was, though it's just because of the giggling. And then he's wandering right back as they stroll along]

It is cute, though. Goodness.

[this was a mistake. he should have just kept walking. why does he even talk to him. ...besides those other pretty good reasons.]

If I ask why, am I going to immediately regret doing so?

I just find it... [another pause, this one to play up finding the perfect word. So, the answer to that question is probably yes.] ...poetic.

Well... Fuck you, I'm older than dirt. I'm allowed.

[he will just subtly bend down and scoop up a handful of snow while they walk. from one of those untouched piles in the shade that actually had some depth to it.]

Of course you are. Appreciating the struggle against the inevitable draw of death... it's almost romantic.

[yeah no he's just going to keep at this]

In a naive sort of way.

[well good, because Robin skips ahead and throws the handful of snow right at Tek's face.]

[it's a good thing that he's in a good mood and was kind of expecting something like that, because he's able to just hiss and snarl instead of react with truly insulted rage.

After he shakes his head and paws snow out of his hair, he dodges a step over to one of those shady spots so he can kick a splash of snow up at Robin's face in return]

[HE DID NOT EXPECT SUCH RETALIATION. he sputters and stumbles backwards, half-laughing and half-groaning while tries to shake freezing-cold snow out of his shirt.]

Freezing, jeez--

[but he'll do a rather FABULOUS roll over towards the next pile and lop another snow scoop in Tek's direction.]

Aah--!

[he pivots to try and deflect most of the snow into his shoulder instead of his face, but--by the way he grimaces--a good amount must have gone down his collar.

And since he's not well-versed in snow warfare, he thinks outside of the box. Which means glancing around and spotting all the snow settled in the branches overhead, instead of sticking to the snow on the ground.

So, instead of scooping or kicking more snow, he quickly steps forward and hops up to grab the branch directly over robin and yanks it down. Snow shower!]

Gya--

[and Robin gets rather hilariously buried under snow. that's what he gets for being that close to the ground. his head pops up and he wheezes a bit, fishing his arms up out of the snow.]

All right, all right! [coughing out that compressed cold air--] You win!

[he's laughing. It's a cruel laugh, but it's better than hissing rage. Especially considering the fact that he's now shaking snow out of his shirt, even forced to scoop some of the freezing stuff out of his collar where it's caught against his neck.

If this had been any other day and set of circumstances, Robin would have had a major tantrum on his hands. This shirt is probably ruined]

Haha-- Good.

[despite the coughing fit to get his lungs working again, he ends up laughing too. because it is funny, and he likes to see Tek happy like that.

he'll... try getting up for a moment, but eventually reach a hand up, towards Tek.]

C'mon, help me up.

[the only thing that actually gets him to comply is the fact that he's still feeling pretty damn pleased with himself, and reaching to help haul Robin to his feet is just one more way to gloat.

Looking down on him and all that.

So, he very graciously offers his hand]

[he could drag him down into the snow. he's thought about it! really, the only thing stopping him is how doing that would mean he is still buried in the snow, and it's cold down here.

so he takes the hand, pulls himself up, twirls around him on the front of his foot, and ends up latching onto Tek from behind. you have acquired one (1) Robin hanging off your shoulders.

it would absolutely be a hug if either of them did hugs.]

You're such a brat. [but he sounds so fond when he says it.]

[he really thought Robin was going to try! He had his feet set solidly and everything, waiting for it.

So, the pleasant surprise of not being dragged into snow is the biggest thing that keeps him from pushing the other immediately away. Robin gets a few moments to hang on him first, before Tek goes to shrug him off]

And you are cold and wet. [so get off of him]

Nope. [he nuzzles his cold face up against Tek's neck and settles even further.] This is what you get. I'm staying here until I'm warm again.

[he groans a little and leans his face as far away as he can get, but he's still smirking. Still in a good mood even after all of this.]

Then, we're going inside. [--mostly because Robin's not going to get much warmth off of him out here. He's only dragging his body temperature down further.

C'mon, let's go.]

Mm...

[he... stops holding so tight, slides off him a little, stops standing on his tip-toes to get around him and tuck himself under an arm instead.

...and brush another chunk of ice out of his hair.]

You know, I'm almost inclined to say that was cheating.

[he'll amble them toward the front doors then. He'll leave his arm slung around Robin, but he's clenching his fingers to try and work feeling back into them. He can't exactly rub his hands together or anything now.]

Cheating? I wasn't aware of any rules.

Oh, there's always rules in a snowball right.

[he would help, but his own hands feel just as cold. at least to him.]

Buuut, they vary from region to region... and there are different rules for different territories, home games, away games...

So you can just consider yourself lucky.

[he gives him an amused look out of the corner of his eye as he goes on, like he can't figure out how much of this he's making up.]

...I'll just take your word for it.

Good. It's probably easier that way.

[he laughs, since goodness, this has turned out much better than he was expecting.]

[for real... usually, setting out to intentionally bother the hell out of Robin doesn't go nearly so well. He even got to win the snow fight. So, he hardly even minds when he has to be the one to get the door because Robin's tucked under an arm.]

Thank you for being so merciful, then. I'm new to these things, after all.

[which he says with that weird... innocent curiosity of his, that little bit that only comes up when he's talking about things very close to him. since it's odd, though, he cuts it off fast and continues:]

Well. If it snows more when winter really shows up, then you'll get plenty of practice.
