[His Highness and supreme ruler of Tel Maran, crown prince of the Dal'Anor Empire; the Emerald Prince himself is looking.... rather terrible.
In fact, he's not been seen for quite some time, and when he's finally stepping out of his room, he looks a lot thinner. The prince appears sickly and tried, and he walks like he's in his own world, taking a break once before the stairs to catch his breath.
So how about them curses? They tend to suck.]

might be true. might be an elaborate setup. either way, he looks a little surprised. and then confused. and then just raises an eyebrow.]
Huh.
no subject
As it was, his highness looked pale and had a hint of cold sweat at his brow, but he was still walking.
Noticing Robin, he seems a bit confused at first.]
...we are fine.
no subject
[he will backtrack down those couple of steps, stopping next to the prince and maybe getting a little too into his personal space.]
Would you like a hand up the stairs, at least? My conscious will start gnawing at me if I let you pass out halfway up. Nasty thing.
no subject
We would like to reach the kitchen... it has been a while since we ate.
[Two days.]
no subject
which is kind of bizarrely easy for him. he looks kind of strong, yeah, but he definitely doesn't look like the kind of guy who could pick up someone else like they're nothing.]
Allow me, then.
[and he'll start... carrying him up the stairs.]
no subject
[Well, he sure did not expect that. He's not sure if he should struggle or not, since this was more than a little awkward for a proud man.
....but in the end, he doesn't have the strength to do more than just allow the man to pick him up like a princess. How Robin could do this was beyond him - he was a tall and well-built man, after all.]
...we are grateful.
no subject
[yep. totally casually just on the way to the kitchen.]
So what ails you, hm?
no subject
[Understatement of the century.]
no subject
[just what he thought.]
no subject
[He sighs.]
We are fighting a curse.
no subject
[he doesn't look horribly concerned about it, at least.]
no subject
[He's kind of relived at that, actually. Well, until he starts coughing up black... liquid.]
no subject
Easy there.
no subject
[Thanks, Robin. Then he can get it up, at least. Poor carpet.]
no subject
So how does this curse work, huh? You're not about to die, are you?
no subject
[He coughs again and then does his best to calm down and stand straighter.]
This place has made it worse. We do not have the same ability to ease our pain.
no subject
but really, though, he's just doing it to siphon away some of Majid's pain and feed on it himself. it's been a long time since he's been around anything that hurts as much as he does. so strangely, he might start to feel a little better. it doesn't make the curse go away, but it's a little numbing. just a little.]
Tell me about that.
no subject
At first, he thinks he's imagining it; that the pain has just reached a higher level. But it doesn't pick up again like it usually does. It seems to lessen to the point when the man can actually stand steadily.]
Ah...
no subject
no subject
[He seems rather confused, glancing at Robin.]
That has not happened to us before.
no subject
[he'll take his hand away, then.]
I mean, you're still being eaten away from the inside or whatever, and that won't last very long due to the nature of perpetually growing sicknesses, but hey.
no subject
[There's a small, exhausted smile.]
We are eternally grateful for this gift. Even if we are still cursed, some relief from this pain is like a blessing.
no subject
[he gives him a little pat on the shoulder. buddy. C:]
I'd still love an explanation, though, if you feel like an even trade.
no subject
[His royal highness sighs and gives Robin a thoughtful look.]
Do you believe in stories? Because we feel like we are part of one. Our mother hated our father, so we are born cursed by her hatred.
no subject
he takes a little step towards the kitchen, gesturing for Majid to follow. he wanted to go there, right?]
And that's the curse that's killing you? That's a hell of a grudge.
