[ Life is tough when you are a brave knight. But the heroic Sir Fiddler is not easily bested by horrific circumstances!! Though an evil villain may have kidnapped him from the safe haven on his bed where his mother tucked him in last night and read him a bedtime story he only despaired for ~~half an hour~~ a brief moment before he was faced for his first foe! Some beast that dwelled deep within the recesses of the ~~extra rooms~~ caves of his prison. It groaned and thumped at the door, scraping at wood--so the brave sir Fiddler did what any hero would do!

He locked it and got the fuck out 8|

But not before dragging p. much all the blankets from his bed with him. BECAUSE IT'S ARMOR. not because he was totally freaked out. Brave knights don't lose their cool.

So now the lone warrior is sort of just...walking through the hall, a portion of the blankets hugged to his chest while the rest trail behind him on the ground. Like a man. A man with manly wet eyes and pursed lips. Who is definitely not sniffling, nope ]

Moooooooom...... Mooooooooooooom.... [ and not calling out for mom either 8|;; ]

[just a creepy one-eyed kid. He holds up his other hand in a cross between an 'I'm unarmed' gesture and a greeting]

...... [ sdkjks adel timidly copies him ): ]

[...he really can't help the weird thought that this kid seriously reminds him of Adel.

But, it's mostly overridden by the fact that children make him uncomfortable. He doesn't know how to interact with them without a voice, and while some can be quite intuitive and respond to nonverbal communication, most... don't.

Aside from being generally a little awkward, he tries to seem as nonthreatening as possible, and gives the kid a questioning headtilt. Seeing if the kid will really even respond to something like that.]

[ does looking confused count D: He's hugging the blanket closer to himself and sniffling a few more times ]

[he sighs a little. No luck.

Well, he's probably just shown up if he's calling for his mom, so... Coil gestures around at the rooms, and then looks back to the kid questioningly? Maybe if he can find out where he came from, he'll at least have a place to start]

........ [ oh crap nooo not that room ]

--It's not mine!

[damn, of course the kid isn't going to think that the room is his. He frowns a little bit and takes a couple steps in the direction that the kid had come from, looking at the names on the doors, seeing if he can figure it out himself or-- he glances back at the kid, hoping he'll give him some kind of sign, here.]

...Don't go! [ sdkjfsk no, all you get is adel clinging one of your legs mister ]

There's a bad monster inside!

[first-- hrrgh, kid clinging to his leg. He... kind of wants to pry him off, but doesn't really know how to do that without making the boy cling harder or something, so... uncomfortably leaves him, for now.

And then secondly-- monster? Well, at least that might lead him to figuring out which room is the boy's. He points questioningly to a random door. In here?]

[ sdkjghsk he shakes his head ;; Not michael's room ]

[c'mon, kid... help him out, here. He points to another room]

[ he shakes his head again ;; aaand...after a moment, points to the room with he name "Adel" on it ]

[...he stares at the nameplate for a minute, and then looks back at the kid. That can't be right.

He points at the door himself. This one, you're sure?]

[ he nods ): ] It's in there....

[ and then a thumbing and groaning noise can be heard from within sdkjgskdg so Adel jumps and hurries behind coil ]

[--uh-oh. That's a familiar sound.

Ignoring the kid for a second, he edges closer to the door until he can lean and listen, nearly resting his ear against the door]

[ It'll be even easier to hear the muffled groaning that way. There's definite thumping--some shuffling and a couple of bumps--since Matt's trying to paw his way out of the locked bathroom ]

[when he's sure that it sounds like the source of the noise is not right by the door, he just... tries to open it?]

[ and adel gasps!! but Matt's stuck in the bathroom, so it's all good ]

[Coil's just gonna wander right in and follow the noise, then. He's not afraid of no monsters]

[ So brave! Adel's staying by the entrance to the room and hiding against it as Matt continues to pound on the door--hungryyyyyy ]

[he listens to the door for a minute, frowning to himself. And glances back at the boy by the door.

...The boy who really looks a lot like Adel.

Hmm. He's beginning to get the idea that something weird and not good is happening, here. So, he knocks a short little rhythm on the door--the kind that Matt had been able to copy, before.]

[ It's like he doesn't even hear it. It really just encourages him to drag his hands over the door harder, making a louder and more insistent groan ]

[...uh-oh.

He can't help but wince at the results of that little test. Glancing back at the boy, he waves his hand in a "GO SOMEWHERE" gesture. He can figure out why a midget version of Adel is wandering around later. Right now, he's got to get this zombie somewhere safe.

...Boy, he wishes the tower had let him keep his staff. He's going to just... look around for something of a similar shape or function. Something that can be used as an effective blunt weapon with some reach]

[ There's...a sort of bone-speak/spike thing off in the corner :D; that he accidentally stuck through the floor at the last castle. So that might work!

Coil's basically on his own now though, because Adel's going to beeline it back to Cian's room ;; ]
