❦ 01
[though it very much seems otherwise, he knows that it can't actually be a dream because of how immediately and distinctly not right he feels upon finding himself in this decadent little room. Doing his best to remain calm, he pokes around, finding an exceedingly strange book with his name on it, peeking through drawers and listening for sounds. Eventually, his search leads him out into hall of faceless doorways, down some stairs, and into a sprawling lobby. Just wandering, hypersensitive and quiet, until he hopefully walks into something that makes some sense. Just stay calm...
He finally stops when he reaches a window, staring--a little shellshocked--at nothing but fog. ...And there he stays for some time, silent in deeply unsettled thought.
Finally, he suddenly remembers the book in his hands. It gives him something to fiddle with, fidgeting with the little clockwork gears until something finally clicks into place and the thing falls suddenly open]
...That seems a bit much.
[and the book helpfully jots down his words for him]
--Oh.
[there is no way this could be a good sign]

[he idly taps a finger on the line of that ill-defined shoreline, and then suddenly forces a smile as he looks back down at the boy. He's distracted-- it's not nearly as convincing as it should be]
So where are you from then, mm?
no subject
I am from very far away, in a place no one will find me.
But my world is called Gratia.
no subject
Well, it looks like someone found you, doesn't it?
[--and then it fades]
...Your world. [something that hadn't occurred to him before is threatening to make sense now, swinging in from the side of his brain but still blearily just out of his grasp] Your world is not this one?
no subject
[which may as well be in response to the first and the second.]
That's what Adel says. I don't... know if he's right or wrong. But it feels different, doesn't it?
no subject
[ah, and there it is. It does feel different. Terribly, bone-gnawingly different.]
So... does 'Nor' mean nothing to you? Precipice, Vennhold... Ithan...
no subject
No. [...he holds his hand out. he would like his grimoire back.] But I am just a kid.
no subject
Kid or not, you would know them if we'd come from the same... place.
[which leaves only absolutely mindbending and entirely alarming options]
no subject
Hey... Do you know where they keep cookies around here?
no subject
[--distractedly, as he wanders off over to another couch nearby, and drops onto it. He lets his arms flop over his knees... until that underlying edginess prompts him to slump the side of his face into one hand.
There is a lot that needs to be processed, and he's finding it a little overwhelming]

[as some thought suddenly bubbles up into his head]
no subject
[... wait that was probably not the right answer.]
Definitely not here.
no subject
Probably shouldn't be laughing at your dead parents, but... oh well.]
no subject
I better go find them, then. Euri will get mad...
[he picks up his thing(s) and sits up.]
El set't da y'fiz. [which Tek can bizarrely understand as meaning "everything will work out all right" and "don't worry".]
no subject
He can't help but laugh again. His head is really beginning to hurt, now]
Nah elohahn se anahm. ["nothing is ever all right," said so pleasantly. Meant to have a 'so smile anyway' sentiment implied along with it.]
no subject
with that concluded he'll slide off the couch and wander back off to the kitchen before Adel can find him. C:]
