[ There was nothing about this situation that was good. It was bad enough being sick for that week--whatever gabe Nishi had made definitely hadn't agreed with him and he'd been hard-pressed to ingest anything for the last week. And before that there was the whole fiasco with the strange shadowed tentacles that put him so strangely at ease... But that definitely wasn't the case now.
Where was it??
It was the question he'd been muttering to himself anxiously over and over as he tore the pillows and sheets from his bed and threw them to the ground with reckless abandon. Ashur's tome was missing. And that was never a good thing. Why wasn't it in his bag though?? He always kept it there when he wasn't using it--it had to be near him where he could keep it safe. Keep it away from others and make sure none of its secrets got out or misused or spilled--
Adel coughed when he realized he'd been hyperventilating, staring around at his room. It was in complete disarray--books, papers, pens, clothes and furniture just tossed every which way. None of it even registered to him; all he could see was the lack of Ashur's book, his book. Where was it where was it where was it?? ]
--Damnit!!
[ He actually yells this, hands flying into his hair as he whips his gaze around again. But it's not there--it's gone, lost--or stolen.
But who would do it? Dog? Robin...? He hadn't seen either of them since the incident. But they had expressed interest in it--they wanted it for themselves! Cerberus had even carried it before and tried to keep it from him.
Adel tugs at his hair as he whirls around on foot and stalks quickly toward the door.
He'll take it back--force Dog to hand it over. Demand, threaten--maybe he'd better summon some reapers? He could try and rip his soul out...if he even had one. And then he could use it to power his necromancy couldn't he?? With and Old God's power he was sure to succeed in finding immortality! It'd be an immeasurable source of power and it'd take some work, but--
No, no, he quickly told himself, shaking his head. He only needed to bring Matt back, he only needed to worry about hi--
I can feel it, Adel suddenly realizes. If he just takes a moment to breathe and think he can...feel it. Barely. Tiny traces--but it's definitely the book. It almost feels like it's...calling out for him? But no, that's impossible. It's been nigh-powerless since he opened it, and yet there's definitely a familiarity on the floors above him.
He's bolting up the stairs as fast as he can in a heartbeat, Coil. And he's coming right for you. ]
